Short Description:
This short articles describes some of the results of the field research that Śniadecka-Kotarska conducted in 1994-1997 near Otavalo, Ecuador. The research is concerned with the Andean artisans. It provides a short introduction to development of the artisan art in the region. It describes the various transformations that occurred in this profession which relate to recent societal changes such as migratory work mobility.
