I want to focus various translations of her poems, analyzing the Spanish, English, Italian and French versions. In my opinion, the apparent simplicity and deliberate naivety, tinged subtly with irony, so characteristic of Szymborska’s poetic creation, oblige translators to adopt specifi c strategies and solutions. Th e fi nal eff ect not always is satisfactory, so that the reader, who does not know Polish, is unable to estimate all the charm, philosophical depth and sonority of this poetry. In the article I present the unpublished correspondence between the poetess and her translators, deposited in Karl Dedecius Archive in Słubice and Wisława Szymborska Foundation in Cracow.</p>}, journal={Estudios Latinoamericanos}, author={Elbanowski, Adam}, year={2017}, month={Dec.}, pages={247-263} }
